Crazy Carl approached me to create a packaging concept so that they could sell their salsa in local markets and supermarkets. In addition to packaging, they also needed a logo design. The only requirement for this packaging was to use red, orange and black colors and to illustrate a stylized “smiley-face” using x-shaped eyes. After studying countless relevant food packaging designs, I started with the wordmark and "smiley-face" illustration and developed the rest of packaging by extending the characteristics of the logo into the packaging design.
